SEMS was contracted by the State of Louisiana to provide emergency  drainage cleaning following Hurricane Ida.   The work includes catch basins in the Houma Sub district of District 2 including the parishes of Lafourche and Terrebonne.  CCTV digital video inspection  was used and sludge, dirt, sands, rocks and other semi-solid materials from the bottom of existing drainage structures is being collected and disposed of in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and ordinances related to hauling, handling and disposal of materials.

Through September, SEMS has inspected more than 1,200 catch basins and cleaned nearly 500 catch basins.  SEMS is responsible for ensuring that the drains flow freely for their entire structure.  Work was completed in high speed work zones. SEMS was responsible for all traffic control measures in accordance with the Temporary Traffic Control Standard Plans.
