SEMS provided full-time quality assurance and quality control during the construction of two new hazardous waste landfill cells and closure of two previously completed cells at a manufacturing facility. Earlier in his career, SEMS founder, Mark Morgan designed the first RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) Subtitle C landfill cells in the State of Mississippi. Morgan designed the Subtitle C landfill for the Morton International manufacturing facility in Moss Point. SEMS ensured that the cell expansion and closure met all project design criteria outlined in the construction plan and specification developed by Morgan. These specifications included:
Site preparation
Foundation work
Construction of the leachate collection system
Leachate detection system
Top and bottom composite liners
