SEMS was contracted to dismantle 10 carbon steel tanks. When the project was completed more than 1.5 million pounds of steel were removed. This duration of this project was seven weeks and it was successfully completed without accidents or safety issues.
Dismantlement & Disposal of Steel Tanks – Scope of Work:
Dismantlement of steel tanks using propane torches and air
Using a manlift, the roof was cut so it would fall inside the tank
Sides of the tank were cut and dropped inside the tank
Plate was folded and readied for the scrap containers
